Should Devin Hester be a Hall of Famer?

I was watching it today on ATH and they had this argument. Usually when someone is the "greatest of all time" at something in ANY sport, they make the Hall of Fame, and in this case, Hester is the greatest return man ever. But some people disregard special teams returners and don't even pay attention to it. So should Hester be a hall of famer?

I liked how Brian Mitchell put it today on Chicago Sports Live.

The best QB isn't the best without a great OL, same with RB, but there are tons of them in the HOF. If someone in another sport is the BEST at their position, they're undoubted HOF's, why should ST's in the NFL be different?

I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible about this but I really cant find an argument on why he shouldn't. He has the most returns for tds not even counting his fg and sb return with a lot less attempts. He's also changed the way teams look at the kick returning game.

I don't see why not, he'll keep it up most likely, and its not like he'll get praise for being in the Hall of Fame because he was a great receiver or anything (he could be one day, MAYBE), his bio will tell of how he was a great returner (the greatest) and nothing more. There's no issue with it. But Brandon, to say Mitchell "looks bad" compared to Hester is quite ridiculous, as good as Hester is.

Oh believe me, I have argued with him many times. You should see some of his arguments during the All-time NFL ReDraft.

As primarily a Returner, he probably should be. As anything else, he shouldn't.

Ahh, I see what you means now. S'all good. I thought you were saying his career is too short to be in the HoF.

i donno.. he is a ****ing beast of a returner.. but a mid core at best WR..

if he where to get in there would be other returns that would need to be put in as well.. so it would need to be look at as it own position witch could start to drowned out what it means to be a HoF

so i am not saying he shouldnt but if he did where would it stop? HoF gunner??
