Can't go wrong with either. Eric Hosmer has originally come with more potential, although Belt has shown more in the minors especially considering this is only his third year he's been a natural first basemen converted from pitcher.

Even though I love Belt, Hosmer might be the safer pick.

In the first prospect list I've seen (I'd link it if I could remember where), Hosmer and Belt were 13 and 14, respectively.

i think freeman should be in this poll aswell. all three have very bright up sides. i think belt has the chnces to be real good but freeman and hosmer has a chance to be great. but belts ++D at first might make him right there with those guys. all three i would be so stoked to have thats for sure.

Why should Freeman be in the poll? He's the worst of the 3.

Based on what? Belt hasn't done anything yet. Not to mention he's ugly as sin.

My first thought was "Why is Belt getting mentioned" I'm a big fan of Belt too but this isn't even a question really. I'd much rather Hosmer or Freeman for that matter. I have a feeling so far with the way Belt's been used in SF he's going to waste away. Between call ups without playing then call ups after Posey then getting hurt.

I'm not sure Belt will ever develop the power to be an everyday first baseman

How can anyone come to this conclusion yet? Yes, he's been screwed with his development by the Giants but at his current pace, he'd hit 30 homeruns in 600 PA's.
