TCU officially joins big east confrence as of July 2012. Great move opens Texas for recruiting and adds a viable football school. Not sure i like the 17 team confrence though. Might be time to cut ties with one of the weaker basketball schools, like Depaul. No offense Depaul fans, but they have not been all that good at Bball lately.

This was honestly the most puzzling move of all the expansion stuff this season. Despite losing Colorado and Nebraska the Big 12 could have been the real big winner had they added TCU and Boisie St. TCU especially made sense for that conference. But, getting in to an AQ conference that IMO they will always be at the top of in football will really help them out exposure-wise. TCU should be a mainstay in the Orange Bowl.

With the resources that more exposure and money will bring from being in a BCS conference you would think that TCU would easily be able to dominate the Big East.

TCU was brought in to save the BE. Without TCU, their sad showings in rankings and top 25 finishes had them in danger of losing AQ status for the conference. The MWC might have over-taken and replaced them. With this move, the MWC suffers a huge setback toward this bid and the BE gets the top 10 boost they needed. TCU left "great potential" (MWC) for a "sure thing" (BE). I don't like it, but I cannot blame them. The BE just handed over a huge check and a virually guaranteed spot in the Orange Bowl to TCU in exchange for the BE getting to keep their gigantic free payout and mostly undeserved AQ status.

DePaul basketball will be back. Oliver Purnell will turn the program around within the next few years.
