    A Q&A with Sami Lepisto.

By the way, this thread has had some of the best discussion in quite a while. We have some disagreements but everyone is providing facts and strong opinions in the right way. I haven't even wanted to post on it because I have been enjoying the read.

Don't look now Boom, but your man-crush Dubinsky and the Rangers are reportedly not close on terms for a new deal. I'm sure they'll work it out, but it's been slow lately so we need something to talk about....

^^^ He would just look so good on that second line. Size and skill.

Toews - Dubinsky - Bolland .... that is depth up the middle for you.

    Campoli + Kruger + 1st rounder .... I'd do it.

Would love to see it happen, just never will, oh well. Hawks are set although maybe they will send Campoli's rights to NY, they only have 5 d-men for this season thus far and two are fresh up from the minors midseason last year.

Also, your offer seems a bit much for just his rights don't you think? We'd also have to dump salary to sign him, so someone would have to go over in the trade. Olesz for example instead of Kruger?

    Welp, back to reality....

The Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday promoted Ted Dent to head coach of the Rockford IceHogs, the team's top minor league affiliate.

Hockey Prospectus ranks the Blackhawks prospects as #5 overall. A very, very in depth reading on what they say are our top 10 prospects in our system. Solid read.

The Blackhawks have walked away and Campoli is now a UFA. I'm surprised we couldn't trade his rights, but it was pretty well known that we weren't going to sign him - I suppose that is why we couldn't get rid of him for something.

Wasn't a tough one to predict but I still like being right . Good for Teddy, he has earned it the old fashioned way, sticking with the club and working his way on up.

The article Boom posted was a really intersting read. I was a little confused as to why Ben Smith wasn't even mentioned considering he is clearly top 3-4 in terms of prospect and I would say is the most NHL ready at the moment.

I also couldn't disagree more with the assertion that Kyle Beach has a soid game in his own zone! Past those 2 things, I really liked gettinga bit of a different perspective on our players beyond my own opinions.

I totally agree with the guy about Pirri. He really started to come around last year in the last 1/4 of the season, but then again, a lot of guys did and that is why they got themselves over .500

The Makarov making the team thing is a bit of a stretch in my opinion to but I don't see many of these guys making it this season. It is the year after that that we may be looking at 3-4 new faces from the farm.

^^^ My only guess is that Ben Smith projects more as a top 9 guy and not necessarily a top 6 guy. While Smith might be the most NHL ready, I don't think he has the highest ceiling.

I agree with you on Beach big time, I actually don't think he should be ranked that high...we all know my feelings on him!

I saw the Hawks getting 10-1 odds in vegas somewhere. DIdn't realize that it was different at each casino. Buuuuuuuuut i'm not much of a gambler beyond fantasy sports so I will freely admit to not really knowing how Vegas works.

^^^^^ I was thinking the same thing! Kindda random that one of the better discussions we have had in a while is revolving around Sami Lepisto and Chris Campoli. Who would have seen that one coming?????

That makes more sense. I guess I was looking at it more in terms of getting to the NHL rather than where they project to. Then again, the article had guys projected in the bottom 6 and they still made it. I also agree that he proabably doesn't have as high a ceiling as a few of the other guys potentially have.

I have to believe that Beach is still getting a bump based on being a high first round pick. In terms of potential contribution and how quickly he could be ready, I would put him between 8-12 in the system right now and that is really counting guys that I have seen play.

    My thoughts oh well!

My cousin might be upset once he returns to the states. I feel sorry for him because he hasn't seen a bit of Hawk news in months (isolation has it's drawbacks) and Campoli was someone he thought fit the CBH well.
