Yeah supposedly Golson hurt his hand. It was shocking when they announced Rees. I was right near the student section and the boos were raining down. More importantly they say Eifert had a concussion which isn't good.
The ironic thing is in 2010 the defense played well at the end of the year and it gave Rees time to learn and just manage games. But obviously last year was a different story. Hopefully by midseason Golson is really comfortable. There were a few times Saturday I would have liked to see him tuck and run with the ball even if it is to just get 5 yards. He forced a couple passes on rollouts. But he's learning.
The ACC and Notre Dame fit, for the most part, academically and athletically. And there's some cross-pollination between the two: the Duke AD was the former Notre Dame AD ... the North Carolina AD is a Notre Dame grad and former Notre Dame associate AD ... the Wake Forest president is a former Notre Dame provost whose three kids are Notre Dame grads ... Swarbrick's son is a Wake Forest alum ... ACC consigliere Gene Corrigan is a former Notre Dame AD and ACC commissioner. And Notre Dame's football schedule has long included some combo of ACC members (and soon to be members) Boston College, Syracuse and Pittsburgh.
It's not anything significant but that list is funny to me.
