I think it's kind of dumb that the Northwest schools may have years where we don't even get a trip down to SoCal, but it is what it is. The fact is that Oregon is turning into a national brand anyways so I'm not sure just how big of a hurdle in terms of recruiting it will be. As for the other elements, I think it's great that we have a championship game and adding Utah will give our conference more respectability obviously. One thing that I heard but have not yet confirmed is that the Pac-10 title game is at the home field of the team with the best conference record, if so that is really stupid even though it will help Oregon a lot.

Even though Oregon would be at more of a disadvantage I still think the game should be either at the Rose Bowl or at University of Phoenix Stadium(the Cardinals stadium). It would present more of a championship game feel by having it at one of those two sites.

Might be kind of lame for teams if they played it there and then they went there for the Rose Bowl game anyway.

I heard the commissioner say the reason is to insure ticket sales on short notice. However, it makes it more difficult for a corporate sponsor. This could change in the future.

Good call on Qwest Field. What the Pac-12 could do is alternate every other year between University of Phoenix Stadium and Qwest Field in order to give the Northwest the stage some of the time as well.

When the 49ers get their new stadium in Santa Clara, that would be my suggestion for a permanent site for the conference championship game.

I'm mainly excited to see Utah join the conference. Adding another elite team can only add to the respect of the Pac-10, respect that is definitely needed.
