    Barner released from the hospital

    - Oregon running back Kenjon Barner has been released from Pullman Regional Hospital after spending the night following a scary collision against Washington State.

Oregon spokesman Dave Williford said in an e-mail Sunday that Barner was discharged and heading back to Eugene with an Oregon team physician.

Barner was hit at full speed by Washington State's Anthony Carpenter on a kickoff return during the first quarter in Oregon's 43-23 win on Saturday. Barner was tended to on the field for more 10 minutes on Saturday left the stadium in an ambulance. Medics brought out a backboard, but Barner eventually sat up and walked with assistance to a stretcher.

Barner is Oregon's third leading rusher on the season. The No. 2 Ducks are off until Oct. 21 when they host UCLA.

Great news. I feared that the injury could be a lot worse.

Yeah that looked really bad on TV, his head got spun all the way around... Good to hear that he's ok, and better news that we have a bye week this coming week. Plenty of time for Barner and Darren Thomas to get healthy...

    update on barner....

It doesn't look like he'll be in Thursday's game against UCLA, still hasn't been cleared to practice.
