This was the first thing I thought of when reading your thread title. Plyo is a real ***** though will help you tremendously with your game. I do p90x and they have a plyo disc in it and I have made really good gains in doing it.

Things that helped me where, running, biking and just other random leg exercises, get your legs as strong as possible. Im pretty dam tall but I can throw down some pretty sick dunks now :P, I just hurt my ankle and its pretty bad so im out for a couple weeks, but cant wait to get back.
