Why don't we have a finance forum here on PSD?

The 'buying on margin' strategy is the main reason the stock market crashed to start the Great Depression. It's crazy how banks could allow those margin rates.

It has been proposed, but i dont think there would be enough interest in it to keep it going. I would be interested from time to time, but certainly not enough to be willing to suggest it myself. If you can get a large enough following in the GD forum then it would be more likely to get put in. Start threads and things like that.

For some reason Citi is showing at $0.00, so his portfolio is artifically down.

Possible, CNBC also has a decent one I believe. If anyone wants to research which one is better I am open to participating and/or running it.

If you want to do another one, then everyone post your name in a list and look for some good simulators. CNBC appears to have a good one, MarketWatch has one I believe. But there could be other ones too.

I want to start one at the beginning of the year, but I won't be able to. However, this can be done by anyone since it isn't an official site function. Just let me know and I will run it up the flagpole for approval.

This all seems fascinating but I have no idea what the hell is going on here...

I'd probably be down to join but can anyone give me a quick rundown of what's going on? Are we basically just playing the stock market with virtually money or what?

Don't lie to him like that...everyone will be sending me a $5,000 check to participate. It will cover administrative fees and whatnot.

Ha! Well I've never really done anything stock market related so this would probably be a great chance to learn something.
