The Knicks should have just started to rebuild after Ewing was done. Instead they traded him for an old Glen Rice, Luc Longley, and a bunch of other scrubs who killed their cap. They would then, for the next decade, attempt to rebuild on the fly like this and dig themselves deeper and deeper into cap trouble with awful results on the court.

its on par with the Moses Malone for Jeff Rulland and cliff Robinson trade.

At the moment of the deal it was actually highway robbery for sixers cause rulland was a young allstar and robinson was still young enough and starry enough.

Both went to **** with injurys and sixers looked certanly stupid even if it wasnt their fault.

Not sure I would say it haunted the former team though. Pistons were on the downward trend after a nice run. The Pistons definately got hosed, but I think keeping Billups would not have kept them in the serious playoff mix.

and that pick i believed turned to be renaldo balkman in the 2006 draft when the raptors OR the knicks could have drafted rajon rondo.

The Vince carter trade wouldn't have looked that bad if they had drafted

danny granger - instead of joey graham
rajon rondo - kept 2nd pick and used it on him instead

i remember carter avg like 27 ppg and played really well after the raptors trade....

just makes me wonder what could have happened if he continued to play well with the raptors

or at the very least what kind of trade package the raptors could have had for that version of carter.....
