I can understand how people don't like the change to predominantly clean vocals, but the vocals are still aggressive. I can also understand the dislike of a lack of a concept album with Scurrilous, but the album still delves into some awesome themes. Still, what separates Protest the Hero from bands like Rise Against is their instrumental talent. Also, say what you will about the clean vocals, they're still some of the best vocals out there in that type of genre.
And their first album (although technically an EP) was A Calculated Use of Sound. It was much closer to early AFI than anything they've done since. Roddy has credited Propaghandi for their evolution into metal.
'Was just listening to Acid Bath today. Man, some great bands have come out of NOLA. Suplecs, Graveyard Rodeo, Exhorder, Haarp, Crowbar, Down, etc. et al

Yea I have been listening to Pandora radio and hearing alot of different bands I have never heard of before. Really liking Attila and Dr. Acula. Here is some Attila if you haven't heard them before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8957uRCpRg
You should look up old Dr. Acula lol, totally different, goofball partycore style. They used to name every song after Goosebumps novels, not sure if they still do that.
