Like I said, it is a direct shot at Glenn Beck, Fox News, (and the tea party movement). Thats why he is making fun of the signs. I feel it is also a shot those who watch fox news, glenn beck, and attended his rally or other tea party rallys.

There is calculated attempt by the left wing media and leaders to discredit tea partiers as 'Tea Baggers', 'Wack Jobs', and 'Radicals'.

Even Obama makes fun of their tea bags.

This restore sanity rally is just another attempt at that.

The Tea Party is not full of insane radical wack jobs. All groups have crazy ppl in them, but the message and majority of the supporters are perfectly sane, clear thinking Americans who are concerend with the size, influence, and spending of government. Which includes raising taxes.

What is so crazy about that?

I really don't care if he is fair and balanced. But if he is going to call out someone for it then he should be fair and balanced himself.

    That is called hypocrisy.

I really cant say this more clearly, i dont think that the people at the rallies (except for the statistical anomaly that are always present at a rally) are crazy. I do think the people who put it together are and are playing off people's legitimate fears.

It should be a shot at Fox News.
It should be a shot at Glenn Beck
It should not be a shot at the tea party

If they are making fun of signs, which lets not forget that the tea party protesters have had signs referring to "tea bagging them before they tea bag us" and they used the phrase first.

Yep. Maybe 1 or 2 ppl made a sign that said that. But again, you would be characterizing the whole group by the very small minority as you said you don't do.

By taking 'shots' at Beck and Fox he is, by association, taking shots at the people who watch them. Beck is considered one of the leading voices of the tea party movement.

I feel that's missing the point.

Person A: I think Person B, host of a show on the network claiming to be fair and balanced, is not fair and balanced. Watch these clips of hypocrisy in action.
Person B: YOU'RE not fair and balanced!!!
Person A: I never claimed to be.
    Person B: But you're not. I win.

A rash oversimplification I know, but it's kind of my point. You're critizing the critic but ignoring what he's saying. But hey, you do consider The Daily Show a news show - and if that's your perspective then you'd have a point. But I think you're in the minority there.

Either way - I'd say its a little early to jump to conclusions on exactly what this rally will entail.

When they were the ones who came up with using "teabag" as a verb i dont think it is a problem. But im not just going to go up to them and call them a "teabagger" at random.

That isnt true at all. Taking shots at Beck and Fox does in no way take a shot at their viewership. Is it taking a shot at myself? I watch Beck and i watch Fox. For the most part Fox runs a top notch organization. O'Reilly comes to mind, Greta comes to mind, Cavuto comes to mind, Varney (the British guy) comes to mind, Wallace comes to mind. There are many, many more but i have ever (and should use) right to call them out for employing a wack job in Glenn Beck. Im sorry, but i wont be blunt about my comments of him. He is an unadulterated wack job.

When an overweight person calls someone else fat it is funny to watch.

That may be an oversimplification as well, but it is essentially what Jon Stewart is doing.

    Thats hypocrisy

Why doesnt Stewart attack CNN or MSNBC for being biased? They clearly are.

Teabagger is a derogatory term for the tea party movement. I just wanted to clarify that for you. The point is the Liberals use it in a effort to discredit the movement.

You interpretation of the rally is walking a very thin line when u say it is criticizing Beck but not the people who watch his show, attended his rally, and consider themselves part of the tea party movement which Beck is the main voice for.

But does he mock them for being biased towards liberal ideology? Making fun of their holograms is harmless. He made one shot at MSNBC years ago but where are the relentless attacks at?

But you walk a far thinner line when you make the assumption that a criticism of a person also applies to everyone who watches them...

You're nitpicking. It's been shown he mocks both sides, and why would he mock liberal ideology he agrees with? I watch The Daily Show regularly and MSNBC gets plenty of airtime. Again, you're expecting a newsman out of Stewart and that's simply not what he is.

I can go find a single clip of Fox News criticizing a Republican. That proves nothing.

Remember that is his personal inpretation of the rally. I am still confused how he arrives at it.

I believe Stewart clearly thinks that the "teabaggers" are all insane "wack jobs" with silly outfits and racist signs.

The "Restore Sanity" rally is a shot at all of them.
