Not sure I understand your question - but he cares because he is someone who believes in liberal ideology and he believes that Fox News actively promotes a right-wing agenda while claiming to be a fair and balanced news network? And unlike many of us (who also worry about that sort of thing) - he has a platform to air those concerns in an often hilarious way?

Its funny really, the reason I brought this up in the first palce was to see if there was an avenue for folks to come at the subject of politics with more of a chill vibe, and not get all pissed off. I'm tired of looking at politicians and being all pissed off. I want to be able to talk about these things without feeling like I'm in one of those old video games, like Mortal Kombat, or Commando. I used to have a liberal friend that I could argue with about things over a beer, and we'd get pretty happy over the course of a couple of hours, but laugh it off- primarily because we both wanted our country to be safe and prosperous, but different ideas on how to get us there. Now it feels like we all hate each other. I wish that friend had not moved away, becasue all this anger is really weighing me down.

If his show was on MSNBC or CNN, you'd have a point. But he's on Comedy Central, and never makes any claims to be a news source of any type. But he's allowed to have opinions, and he's just in a position where he can voice his pretty loud.
My whole point was really in your response to saying that he's not being fair or balanced at all - I'm saying he has no responsibility to be. It's like criticizing Dave Chapelle for not being fair or balanced to crackheads.
While the "comedian card" may be frustrating, there is some legitimacy to it.

Sorry to be part of that!
But I agree, and frankly I think that's kind of what Stewart is going for. I could be totally wrong, but look at Beck's rally. He really didn't politicize it as much as most people expected (just way way religious is all). But a lot of people who seemed to support that rally are acting like this will just be a liberal, make-fun-of-the-right-wing event. All I'm saying is give it a shot, eh? We can disagree and not call each other Hitler.

No one is calling any1 Hitler here. All im saying is that this rally by Jon Stewart, Months after Beck's rally, in which he says is on a "date of no signifigance" and that he is going to "give out signs" because he is sick of the wack jobs, is a direct shot at Beck, Fox News, and the Tea Party.
How can any1 really deny that?

from "Restore Honor" to "Restore Sanity". He is implying that those who were at the first rally were insane.

I believe he is pointing out the insanity of those who organized the rally (Beck/Palin/etc). Then there are the people who werent there but endorsed it such as Newt/Bachmann/etc. Then there are the guys on the otherside such as Al Sharpton who felt the need to counter the movement. There is clearly insanity on both sides. No i wouldnt say the people there were crazy, but those behind it i definitely would.

I didn't mean to imply that type of namecalling was happening here, but at rallys on both the left and the right it's happened plenty. Sorry for the confusion.
I'm not denying he's taken shots at Beck here...again my point was about your feelings that he should be fair and balanced.
