What did you want him to do? Go on youtube and watch instant replays? Bird and Magic had a friendly rivalry, Bird wanted to out-perform Magic everyday. He wasn't a stat padder like Lebron and wilt.

How so? A stat padder is someone who can't win titles with the organization that drafted them despite having proven winners on the team. Both Lebron and Wilt had to go elsewhere and play with already proven stars in order to win.

LMFAO I think you forgot to mention HCA and winning a franchise its first title whilst leading the league in all star votes and being favored to win by the media while being the only all star on the team where your clearly the man on route to at least 1 sweep and never losing on a sunday and always taking the last shot if your team is down in a series.

Thats what a stat padder is.

Lmfao did I get that right?

Anyways MJ was every bit as stat conscious as any player you want to name.

And on topic, Bird always looked at the box scores, I remember reading him pointing out to his teammates that MJ went 17/41 and joking that he wants a 40 shot night tonight

No, I mentioned leading a franchise that never won a title before as a recipe for success because it means you are the primary reason the franchise ever succeeded. The Heat had won titles before Lebron ever came. Also Lebron is the guy that wore a shirt saying all about his stats.

False, the Heat won a single title. And since your so oblivious to my sarcasm, I wasnt being serious. I dont give a **** about your trivial definitions, unless you can show me where the NBA writes an official dictionary on the term "stat padder" winning titles has nothing to do with it. Stat padders can win titles.

Thats why I included MJ with those other 2.

Are you serious JordansBulls? You bumped a 2 year old thread called "Was larry bird concert about stats to much" with "I don't even think Bird cared about stats that much" HAHAHA

What is your newfound obsession with him? This ridiculous bump. The what would prime be ranked in nba today? (Just to say that he would be #1 in league in that thread) and a "Lebron vs Bird" thread.
    I survived Stephon Marbury's inability
Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin, Richard Jefferson era
I survived them all leaving, a 12-70 season and not getting the #1 pick
    Mikhail Prokhorov buys the Nets
    I survived Melodrama
    Deron Williams traded here
I survived 248 games missed due to injury, 5 d-league call-ups, 14 different lineups in ONE season, Johan Petro
    I survived Dwightmare
    I survived Avery & PJC's rotations
    THE Offseason - Success TBD
