Yeah on tough oily shots like that it is really hard to play in the middle of the lane. Those guys who play outside have a big advantage, because as they breakdown the lanes along the 5 board, they can start to move in and let their ball hook off the dry boards they created.

Learning to play straight up 5 could definitely benefit you a lot if you keep bowling tournaments like that.

At least you had fun though! How expensive was it to enter the tournament?

It was just $45 to bowl each day.

All the side pots were optional. I got in a lot I spent about $150 on just pots for both days.

Also the reason I dont like to play the 5 board is because I dont put a lot of hand on the ball. I can but that will require me to turn over my hand and come over the top of the ball and create bad habits. I am also afraid of throwing it in the gutter.

About 40 guys from our Saturday night league went. And the ones on my lanes saw I was struggling bad and were surprised because they know I am a good bowler. I am going to practice that outside shot a lot this summer.

Don't worry about putting extra hand in the ball. Just stay behind it and trust it. It will still hook. Don't think about throwing it in the gutter either. It happens. When ever I gutter, it's almost a waste of a frame. I want to make sure I don't ditch it again, so I end up pulling it. Oh well....

Yea thats my problem trusting it from that far outside and my fear of the gutter.

I have shot like that before and have done well but like I said created bad habits. I am going to work on that more this summer.

I shot 190 - 249 - 238 - 205 in singles league last night. Went 8-2. We get 2 points per game and 1 point for series. We bowl 2 games against 1 person, then switch lanes and bowl 2 games against someone else.

First game would of been higher, but pocket 7-10 in the 9th frame kinda killed me.

I frickin hate pocket shots leaving the 7-10 or just the 7 pin. That makes no sense to me at all. You hit the pocket the momentum of the ball and pins SHOULD take out the 7 pin. I cant stand when it just stands there and laughs.

I am going to be bowling in a few King of the Hill tournaments on Thursday nights at the house I bowl in during this summer. Probably do one in two weeks.

Bowled in a No-Tap Tournament today and took 1st place. Shot 1118 for 4 games (264, 276, 288, and 290). I qualified 4th. Beat the #1 seed 208-197 (yes, we took turns bowling horrible) and then won the finals 252 to 230. It wasn't anything big, but thought I'd share!

I bowled last night for the first time in probably two months. After my last bowling day, my wrist hurt pretty bad for like a week. Dunno what I did. But then I decided not to bowl for a while. I bowled 3 games last night and I was so rusty. My high score was 167. However, I pulled maybe the best spare of my life. I threw an awful first ball and left a 4,7,9,10. Then I started it in the middle and put a massive hook on it, and somehow caught the outside of the 4, which flew across and knocked over the 9 and 10 and my ball also hit the 7. I wish I had recorded it. The people on the lane next to mine were amazed that I picked it up. Even I was shocked. I can pick up a lot of hard spares, but that one was so insane. Bad news is after just 3 games, my wrist is killing me again today...Not sure what to do.

LOL same bro... My highest score was something in the 180's... I'm usually a 130-150 range bowler.

138 killed the good night. Very oily lane so I am compensating more and had a lot of crossovers, not a lot of solid pocket hits.
