It's the 2012 USBC nationals pattern. 39 feet long
Has anyone tried or know anyone (right handed) who bowls without using their thumb? I've been doing that for a couple years now and I bowl a lot better. Just wondering if anyone had any pointers or perspectives being a thumbless bowler.
Yea there are quite a few bowlers in my league who dont use their thumb. Some are really good and some are bad. I guess it just depends on practice. People who dont use their thumb have told me spares are harder for them. Which I can see since your thumb is not their to guide the ball.
Second straight good week for me:
My avg over the 5 games since pulling my thumb slightly out is 221. Whatever works i guess!
koldjerky- I know a few guys who bowl like that. The best guy i know on my league carries just over a 200 but for the most part, people who bowl like that arent very good and are highly inconsistent cause theyll have problems controlling their hook. I would definitely bring along a non -aggressive ball for when the lanes start breaking down.
Finished 2nd on sweeper night losing by 10 pins So weak but it was a nice chunk a cash at the end of the night. Losing by ten pins makes you go back and think of all the small mistakes that would have allowed us to win had they not happened. all in all it was a good night!!!

Shot a 247/246/191 last Saturday we took four out of seven points. We won second and third games by a combine five pins. We got destroyed the 1st game. Only 3 weeks left.
Finished up with a 192 avg (+8 pins from last year), my highest ever. I had a 190 like 6 years ago but have been stuck between 184-187 for the last 5 years. Now to work on my thumb issues this summer...i think my thumbhole is too big. Ive seen you guys say to bowl with a straight thumb but if i do that i cant hold onto the ball....so im guessing its too big.
Everybody's leagues coming to an end?
We have two weeks left.
Bowling season over and we finished in 4th place got beat out by third by two points.
Ouch, so close to third. But congrats man.
Yea, we got $3200 for 4th place we got $640 a man and gave our 6th and 7th bowlers $40 each. So starting 5 got $560 a man plus we have a kitty that we all 7 of us got $75 a piece. So $635 for me is not bad at all.
Going to Detroit this Friday. Really looking forward to it, its my first time bowling out of state at a tournament.
Bowling season is definitely not over. It's the start of summer season
In the summer I rarely bowl, maybe 2-3 times. I like to take it off and just chill.
