Sorry, I was out of the country for almost 3 weeks. Monday is the last night of my league and then I get my new ball. I don't think I get it that night but I at least get to go to the store inside the alley and discuss with the person and everything. I am pretty excited. Still don't know what size I will go for. I know I need to start using a heavier ball but I just haven't felt comfortable with anything heavier then 11 pounds so I dunno what to do yet. And btw this thread will never die. We wont let it.
TAKE PRIDE
Yesterday I went in to bowl makeup games that I missed while being out of the country and in 6 games my low score was 154. High score was 193. For not bowling at all for 3 weeks and leaving the country averaging around 130 over like a 6 week span I liked my improvement.
TAKE PRIDE
you get used to a heavier ball, i used to throw 12 lbs then moved up to 14, took a few weeks to get adjusted to it but it def. doesn't feel like that much different from the 12.
Whoa.... a bowling thread. Sweet! I haven't bowled in (well not sober at least) in over a year. I have been tempted to get back into it though. But I am pretty sure I suck now.... when I stopped I finished the season with a 196 avg.
Yay for bowling!

Man, jump up to a 15lb ball. I know when I was bowling with a 12lb (I was like 15 or so) I was too nervous to jump up to the 14lb ball. When I did I gained so much more control and started understanding how much difference a ball (balanced and weight) could make a difference. Now I roll a 15lb strike ball and my 16lb plastic one as a right side spare ball. Just keep that in mind when looking at ball weights.

I'm throwing a 16 pound Hammer Black Widow but Im thinking about going back to a 15 pounder.
props to Bee for the sig!!
Yea the 16lb ball does give you a bit more control, and will keep you from being a little wild. But the 15lb ball could allow you to get more revs on the ball which can really help when the lanes dry out and you need to throw more of an inside out, wide hooking ball. But to each his own....

Won me $640 this past Saturday in Doubles! I shot a 246/257/178. I won cash the second game.
bowled over my average all three games monday night, first time in ages. usually have one bad game. think i bowled: 199, 186, 205.
in 7th place in state tournament with one week to go, hopefully we stay within top 10 so i can get some money
I like the ball a lot. Before my Black Widow I used to throw a DynoThane Threshold which was my fav ball ever untill it got stolen. With my Threshold I threw 2 299's in back to back weeks (damn ten pins) and my high series of 773 all in leauge. I wish I could find another one but I can't anywhere.
props to Bee for the sig!!
I used to bowl all the time so much my dad bought me a 12 lb ball. I used to get about 150-160 average, my highest was a 197. Now...I'd probably average 130-140. Most of the time now when I bowl I just mess around and see how fast I can throw it![]()
