    Ask your fellow Chicago fans...

If we are talking this year...How can you pick Utley?

Uhhhhh, what? What the hell do Cub fans have to be proud of exactly? Our team is a complete joke. I know there are homers of every fan base, and I hate all of them equally. Believe me, if we were debating whether Cub player X is better/worse than Brewers player X, I would have absolutely no trouble admitting if the Brewer player is better.

When Mark Derosa had an awesome year at 2B for the Cubs in '08 I can assure I wasn't going around declaring him the best in the league.

And by the way, I think the thread is asking who is the best major league second basemen. Not who is putting up the better numbers in one season, but who has the most talent and has proven that talent. That is no contest: Utley.

He's not the best but I think Rickie Weeks deserves a glance (as in top 5 2B). He's finally had the breakout season that many had been waiting to witness for a few years.

Cano's all over that title this year with Utley injured and all.

but a healthy Utley and his ****-do, outdo Robbie's sweet swing based on previous analysis.

But its a neck and neck race since both have yet to reach their ceilings imo

Weeks isn't quite just there yet. He is having his best season thus far but there are still better second baseman out there such as Utley, Cano, Pedroia, Uggla, Phillips, Roberts and Kinsler.

When healthy, Utley ****s on everybody. But Cano has bee the best this year. He would probably be the guy I take moving forward.
