But, I digress...lets move on to the WAR
Now I dont claim to kno all that much about these advance stats but I know people respect and follow them, here's what I dont understand:
Felix 2006: 4.52ERA 1.34WHIP 3.91FIP 8.3 K/9 2.93 K/BB- 191IP
Rijo 1988: 2.39ERA 1.13WHIP 2.58FIP 8.9 K/9 2.54 K/BB- 162IP
Can someone explain to me how Felix and Rijo both get a 3.8WAR for those seasons?
How is it Felix's WAR is the same? Do those 29IP really make that much of a difference?
Rijo absolutely dominated in 1988 but his WAR is the same as a pitcher who shelled out an average season?
Felix might be close to Rijo is WAR, but doesnt all of that make you wonder how thats even possible?
Can someone please explain that ^ to me?
Say what you will about Felix, Rijo has those 800 more IP under his belt, his career numbers are quite similar, and unlike Felix, Rijo has actually shown some postseason ability.
