Hello all. I have been reading this board for years and now I want to get involved with the madness.

1. I have been a Rangers fan since 1992 since I was old enough to remember.

How long have you been a Rangers fan?

I didnt really start to follow the NHL until I was about 15-16 (seeing as the games were played at 1:am) but I've always liked NY teams and Rangers were the obvious choice.

Who was your favorite Rangers players growing up?

Mike Richter - the no.2 goalie favorite all categories after the almighty CuJo who I became obsessed with after watching a VHS film about the World Cup of Hockey '96

Who are your current favorite Rangers players?

Ryan Callahan and Henrik Lundqvist. I love the way Ryan Callahan plays a big mans game in a small frame, and he never ever quits on a play. Lundqvist is a swede like me and well, how could I not like him?

What years were your favorite Rangers teams?

Hard to say since I havent followed them for that long, obviously many are going to say '94 because of the Stanley Cup but I was only four years old at the time. So, hmm, no answer

-I'd add a stud number one center who's young. Since I despise Crosby + Malkin, Steven Stamkos.

How long have you been a Rangers fan?
I was a die hard Rangers fan by 1978 but I think I started as a Rangers fan around 1976-1977

Who was your favorite Rangers players growing up?
Donny Murdoch, Ron Greschner, John Davidson, Barry Beck, Ulf Nilsson, Nick Fotiu, Ron Duguay, Phil Esposito, Eddie Johnstone, and Pierre Larouche. What a group of characters, lol. Those were the days when the team had a real crazy personality.

Who are your current favorite Rangers players?
Duby, Gabs, MDZ, Prust, and I'm hoping Boogs/MZA become favorites as well.

What years were your favorite Rangers teams?
The years from 1978-1984 were really special and my overall favorites. The years of Brian Leetch, Mike Richter, Mark Messier, Alex Kovalev were also great.

Who is the one guy in the NHL you would like to add to the Rangers?
I know many Rangers fans hate the guy. I didnt like him for a long time also but his skills and work ethic make it hard not respect his game. Sidney Crosby.

It's eerie that while I was reading Sly's OP these were pretty much all my answers. Except I would throw Mess in with Richter and Leetch and being a d-man growing up I would say Leetch was my favorite of the 3.

That and if I had to get that number one center I would go Ryan Getzlaf. Very nice contract, probably still wont garner as much moolah as the other 3 when that contract is up and brings that added gritty leadership quality Mess use to have.

Of course the cup studs Leetch, Messier, Graves, and Richter. Im also a big Niklas Sundstrum fan, I just loved the way he played the game.

94 is the obvious, post lockout my favorite would be 2006-7

How long have you been a Rangers fan?

Ive followed the Rangers since 1992-93, I had just moved from Long Island and my new friends were big into hockey, all Devils fans. I was a Devils fan (I was also 8 years old..) and I came home in a Devils jersey one day, and my father said to me, not in this family. We're Rangers fans here. My family is from right near Queens, so I didn't question it. Die hard since.

Who were your favorite Rangers players growing up?

Mike Richter and Brian Leetch. I would play roller hockey in my driveway with my younger brother, and as a goalie, the only thing I would say was "save by Richter!" every time I made a save, quoting the timeless Sam Rosen. I was at the Richter retirement game, and I will admit, I got a bit emotional. Tough to see your hero hang em up. I still remember the groin injury Richter got on the breakaway by Nedved and I was heartbroken.

Who are your current favorite Rangers players?

MDZ and Cally. Love the heart in Cally and the potential in MDZ.

What years were your favorite Rangers teams?

Clearly '93-'94, and '97.

Who is the one guy in the NHL you would add to the Rangers?

this one's tough...Joe Thornton, Anze Kopitar, Zack Parise come to mind. Also wouldn't mind Duncan Keith or Henrik Sedin.

How long have you been a Rangers fan?my 1st baby picture im wearing a knitted red white & blue rangers cap that was 1972 my mom took me home form the hospital in it & i took my 2 sons home from the hospital in that very same cap.

Who was your favorite Rangers players growing up? I always loved John Ogrodnick,Anders Hedberg but Mark Messier is my all time favorite along with Mike Richter & Adam Graves

3. Gaborik, Callahan

4. early seventies, early-mid nineties (We moved to Mississippi when I was 13, so I missed out on some hockey -- Murdoch would have been a favorite at the brief time he played had we been able to watch hockey even once a week during that time -- they locally blacked out the NBC game of the week)

5. Rick Nash (really, anybody but Crosby or malkin -- I now live in Pittsburgh and watch the Pens games just to root against them).

I like having some fellow old time Ranger fans (hey wait I'm younger than you!!!) on the board. Donny Murdoch was my very first favorite player. I believe he scored 5 goals in 1 game his rookie year.

Been a fan since 92 i was 3 and 4 years old already had 3 ranger jerseys Mess Leetch and Gartner

Growing up my favorite play and still to this day is Adam Graves but my others would have to be Leetch, Richter, Messier, Beukeboom, and Kovalev

Favorite players now are Dubinsky, Henrik, Staal, Gaborik

Favorite Ranger teams were '94, '97, and the Jagr years
