< http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/n...=.jsp&sid=t478 > Dominguez Does It Again! Late Homer Lifts Jackets- Chris Dominguez's two-run home run in the ninth inning was the difference in a 3-1 win for the Augusta GreenJackets over the Charleston RiverDogs on Sunday evening.
With Nick Liles at second, Dominguez blasted the offering from Ronny Marte over the left-field fence to provide the eventual game-winner. Dominguez drove a ball off the scoreboard in left in the fourth inning, missing a home run by only a couple feet. Liles reached on an error at the start of the inning and moved to second on a Ryan Cavan sacrifice bunt.
With the win, GreenJackets manager Dave Machemer enters Tuesday's contest with the Greensboro Grasshoppers needing one win for his 1,400th career victory in his time as a manager in the minor leagues.
Charleston got three hits in the first inning off Chris Heston and got a 1-0 lead early on a Neil Medchill groundout. The GreenJackets answered in the fourth after breaking Sean Black's string of 11 straight hitters retired at the start of the game. Dominguez singled and scored on Luke Anders' triple into the right-field corner to tie things at one.
Heston delivered five solid innings for the Jackets, striking out five and scattering seven hits while allowing just a run and one walk. Black allowed only three hits in seven innings of one-run ball while striking out five and walking none.
Jose Casilla retired three of the four hitters he faced to earn his seventh save of the season, striking out DeAngelo Mack to seal the deal in the ninth.
Wilmin Rodriguez (2-2) fired three scoreless innings of two-hit relief to get the win while Marte (2-3) takes the loss in relief for the RiverDogs.
