I actually like him too. Solid D and a decent bat. Just don't like that he was acquired though. Don't really need him with all the LH bats.

Agreed. It seemed superfluous. But he should, operative word should, be a cheap option
Schierholtz and Nix are both fine organizational guys. You need a couple players like them. They often play like starters so long as they remain in their back up role.
That said, if Ruf and Brown make the team, then (at least) one of them has to go. Probably Nix.

FWIW, John Sickels posted his preliminary 2013 top 50 hitters and top 50 pitchers lists. We have Biddle at #24 and May at #32
http://www.minorleagueball.com/2012/...-list-for-2013
Thought Morgan would crack that list.......
Morgan who?
adam morgan
Hm. Hes put up decent numbers. There must be something about his makeup/stuff/delivery/command/mechanics/whatever that the scouts dont like
I guess...very sad to see no hitters on there. actually now that I think about it cody asche should be there
I honestly dont like Asche. Walks very little and K's a ton. Numbers are helped by an unsustainable(likely) BABIP of .382 in A+ last year and .388 in AA.
But thats just from looking at the numbers. No clue if he shows promise in his mechanics/tools/whatever
Jurys out on Asche....we should know more this year if he can sustain that. Im not as high on Asche as a I am on Mikael franco. One of them will likely be trade bait this year, hope its not Franco.
Surprised May is on there ahead of Morgan
I'm not sold on Sickel's rankings yet. I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock into them. Trevor May is #32 on his pitching rankings? I didn't think that May took a step forward at all. Hope he sees something though.
