I'm going to the AAA Homerun Derby at Iron Pigs Stadium on Monday. I can't seem to find who's in it though. I heard they are having two local highschool kids compete which I think is pretty cool.

Yea, Aumont has been bad, his velocity is down from 93-95 with sink to 89-91 without sink. Gillies had a rough start but he's been banged up for most of the season. I still think he's pretty likely to become a player similar to Shane Victorino within the next couple years.

I worked at the Sacramento Rivercats for 5 years when it first opened. The highlight was when they hosted the AAA All Star game. That was a fun experience.

Sacramento Rivercats 1B Chris Carter got snubbed for the HR Derby.

^^ It's way too early to give up on Trevor May. If he can cut down his walks while he continues to develop he can still be a pretty good pitcher. He is really young too.

These kids have a bright future.

Check out my series on the short term and long term state of the Eagles roster, and let me know what you think.

Apparently Chuck LeMar personally called to have Brown removed from the game as a precaution. Methinks some intrigue is a-brewin...
