More from Sir Goldstein
I had James and Colvin at 8 and 9 in our organization at last look in. Things haven't changed too much on that list, but I'd probably bump James and Colvin up to #7/8 and Aumont down to #9. James has a chance to be the #1 ranked prospect in our system if he continues to rapidly put things together (and Brown gets promoted). More likely, I expect Cosart, Singleton, and James to be our new big 3, although they won't be anything like the previous big 3 of Brown, Drabek, and Taylor.Brody Colvin, RHP, Phillies (Low-A Lakewood): 5 IP,4 H, 1 R (0 ER), 3 BBl, 6 K. Strange lines of late; has given up ten runs in last four starts, but none of them earned.
Jiwan James, OF, Phillies (Low-A Lakewood): 2-for-4, 3B, 2 RBI, SB; 2-for-4, 3 RBI. Ultra-toolsy outfielder is batting .344/.391/.418 since the All-Star break and showing a much more patient approach of late.

How do scouts view Cosart? What's his ceiling? Seems some people are high on him saying he's a potential Ace, while others don't.
I haven't seen a scout talking Ace, but I think his absolute ceiling could be that high. He's got the prerequisite fastball, it's just a matter of how much his breaking stuff comes together. For now, consider him a mid-rotation type.

Let me put it this way. He's our 2nd best prospect.
Is he untouchable, no. But I wouldn't trade more than one of Cosart/Singleton/Gose/Gillies/James if I could help it and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything that wasn't going to make us a much better team.

Harry, I grew up with the phillies and learned the game by your voice. You will always be missed but never forgotten. Though you are no longer with us, you'll never be "outta here" in our hearts!
He's been a starter since he was drafted. He had a GREAT first half last year, and a relatively terrible second half. This year he started off pretty bad and then went into shutdown mode. I think he can be a starter at the major league level. Maybe a good number 4.
