As for Back to the Future... SMH!!!!

District 9 and the 2nd and 3rd Pirates I agree though.

    And I still :LOLove: you.

True, but the thread title "Movies that you dislike that are highly rated amongst most viewers" just doesn't have a good ring to it.
I saw FSM like three times in one weekend because my fiancee loved it and wanted to watch it with her friend and I think it got worse for me with every viewing.

I will also say every comedy that has Judd Apatow's name on it (writing, directing, producing) besides Anchorman and Step Brothers is also overrated.

More recently, I thought be overhyped Hot Tub Time Machine. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

All time, I didn't care much for the sequels to the Matrix movies.

For the longest time I heard about how great Boondock Saints was. Then I saw it really cheap at Best Buy so I bought it. I thought it was terrible, just didn't see the appeal and why it was such a cult classic.

And for everyone that says The Hangover, thank you.

That's so strange, since Anchorman and Step Brothers are two of the only Apatow movies I don't like. I am in a huge minority with Anchorman though, I need to give it another shot.

Some movies I would like to add after viewing this thread are

Anchorman- it was solid but my goodness fans of this movie rave about it as if it is the funniest thing ever... I got a few chuckles out of it.

    The Hangover- see Anchorman

Greenstreet hooligans- I've never heard it referred to critically as a good movie but once again I have heard countless people rave about how it is amazing when it was above average at best

The Boondock Saints- Interesting movie and definitely watchable (I own it) but it is ridiculously overhyped and there was no reason for them to make a second one. Especially since they removed the best part of the first one (Willem Dafoe).

The Notebook- You can thank women for this one. I am the type of guy that enjoys chick flicks but this movie made no sense to me and really was rather boring.

Twilight- The fact that this movie has made any money at all is a testament to how overrated it is.

City of God- Really did not interest me one bit

Fight Club- I have never seen why so many people think this movie is so fantastic, it is a watchable movie but come on.

300- Didn't even make it through this one, it was simply just not very good.

I didn't think stepbrothers was rated that highly. I thought it was just a bland comedy, but I thought everyone did

Have only seen parts of Dances with Wolves, the movie is beastly long.

Scarface is definitely overrated, though I still enjoy the flick, albeit it too is a bit too long.

I loved Memento! I didn't think it got enough respect when it came out. Those who tell you that it is one of the best movies of all time are definitely wrong, but I still really enjoyed the movie.
Yes, that's all the movie was. An Experience that will probably change how movies will be made
