catches-targets, catch%, yards, yards per target
interceptions on passes targeted to that receiver
    receiver rating

You had to be targeted at least 6 times per game to qualify.

Austin was targeted 120 times, and caught 81 balls.

He averaged 11 yards for every pass thrown his way, whether it was caught or not.

He scored 11 touchdowns, and 2 of the passes intended for him were picked off.

His receiver rating led the NFL last year.

I don't even know how to get a QB's stats for passer rating. This would be interesting, but seems too complicated.

I bet Devin Hester got like a 5.

I just used the same 5 factors used to figure passer rating: completions (receptions), attempts (targets), yards, TD, INT.

    Hester 57-89 64% 8.5ypa 757 3td 3int 88.1

Didn't have enough targets to qualify though. No Bear wide receiver did.

Well since most people who know their football know that passer rating is BS then i would guess this is just as much BS.

It's even more pointless to use a QB's rating to judge performance than it is to use a pitchers ERA. These are stats for the general watching public because they are easy to understand and identifiable, not because they are a good barometer to judge a players performance game in and year out.

Rodgers had more of his passes dropped than any other QB last year, and still had that high rating.

yes it is, passer rating is only bad when judging an entire career, not a single year...

it is virtually impossible to have a great passer rating and not be great that year, or have a horrible passer rating one year, and not be horrible...it is very telling

for a career?...you are averaging a person's rookie years and older post prime years into his prime...so someone like Troy Aikman, who struggled bad as a rookie and in his concussion decline days, has a poor career rating...

but for a single seaon?...passer rating is a GREAT STAT!!!...best stat available for QBs imo...most telling stat imo...it is EVERYTHING
