The Colorado Avalanche have taken a pass on Peter Delmas.
In a move that comes as no huge shock, Delmas's agent, Jean-Pierre Lareau, told Metro Thursday the Avalanche will not sign the 20-year-old Halifax Mooseheads goaltender before the June 1 deadline for 2008 draft choices.
Delmas, selected 61st overall, struggled with a nagging hip injury in 2009-10 and didn't live up to expectations after starting the campaign with the Quebec Remparts. He ended up being cast away to the Mooseheads for a sixth-round pick over the holidays.
The Bedford native, once seen as the league's top goaltending hope, will re-enter the draft but will likely be back in the QMJHL next season as an over-ager. His return creates something of a log-jam in Halifax with soon-to-be 19-year-old Mathieu Corbeil.
