Nowhere near those numbers now. Those were all raw (no powerlifting gear)
Much props on that. Takes a man to get his form down and heavy weight up without that help. Me personally, I cant Squat, Dead, or hell anything heavy that uses my back anymore without a belt. I got hit by a car and it ****ed my back it. It helps my back, but I can definitely feel it help my lifting too, which I dont like. Takes a man to go raw... 785 in your hands no straps is insane

Straps are a life saver. You lift so much heavier/efficiently with them on back days.

I use straps and gloves most of the time. On really heavy lifts it hinders my lifting abilities because it makes the bar thicker sort of. My fingers cant close as much with all that padding. Other than that, straps and gloves are used in my workouts all the time. Give me a weaker grip with a wider back any day of the week!!

No way! I was strapless for about a year before I just started using them. I am more than willing to sacrifice a few pounds of pressure in my grip for the few extra pounds of mass I can gain in my back.

Yea i was just messing, but since I want to compete in powerlifting someday, straps cant be in my tool box, and they never have been. I've always had a strong grip even though Im skinny. Obviously if you are bodybuilding grip doesnt really matter. Although I sometimes see people relying on them too much and using them when they probably dont even need to.

I only use straps for a few exercises, and only at certain weights.

    Deadlifts/Shrugs - Over 275lbs
    Lat Pulldowns - Over 180lbs
    Rows - Over 185lbs

pretty sure you could deadlift over 200 easily if you can do 155x8.
