I guess my Lebanese/Cajun *** will rep the Asians?

Choi Min-sik as Oh Dae-su in Old Boy. If you feel yourself needing an explanation, watch the damn movie.

Eihi Shiina as Asami Yamazaki in Audition. Won't ruin the twist, but she completely sold it.

Tadanobu Asano as Kakihara in Ichi the Killer. He made this movie for me.

I know it might be viewed as lame, but I really enjoyed Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles....even though he hasn't dropped the act since.

Really can't argue with any of the names already mentioned, so I won't go and repeat them.

Denzel Washington as John Creasy in Man on Fire (That movie has a special place in my heart).

Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price in Unbreakable.

Ron Perlman as Hellboy. If you have even LOOKED at the comic you could see that Ron was a perfect choice to play HB. It's almost eerie, actually.

The very best though? Ledger in TDK for me. Unfortunately for us, it was a once in a lifetime performance.

Screw Denzel, how about Snoop Dogg in Training Day.

He played one hell of a crippled drug dealer!

Hell yes. Oldboy is one of my top ten favorite films. Unbreakable is high on the list as well...criminally underrated movie.

Daniel Day Lewis always becomes the character so well. I think Johnny Depp does a good job too. I feel like so many actors just play themselves reading lines.

I understand the the M. Night hate, but I did enjoy Unbreakable and Signs quite a bit. The Village was enjoyable, but no nearly as good as those two
and The Sixth Sense is on an entirely different level.

    These are not movies but...

    Lithgow in Dexter was awesome.
Bryan Cranston is also on a different level in Breaking Bad.

De Niro in Raging Bull is pretty amazing...so is Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

The movie is one of my top 3 of all-time, but I just didn't see any overwhemling performances.

I'd also like to add Kevin Spacey in American Beauty.
I think Leo did a pretty solid job in that movie, but I didn't necessarily like Damon's performance, and Wahlberg's IMO was average for the role he played.

To me it starts with Marlon Brando in the Godfather. The persona he created was just one if not the most memorable of all times as far as movies go.

DeNiro in Taxi Driver is up there in my eyes and so is Ranging Bull.
Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot and There will be Blood.
    Michael Douglas in Wall Street.
    Sean Penn in Mystic River.
    Denzel in Training Day.
    Heath Ledger in TDK.
    Javier Bardem in NCFOM.
Forrest Whitaker in The Last King of Scottland.
    Gene Hackman in Unforgiven.
Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs.
