I'm actually quite shocked nobody has said Malcolm Mcdowell in a Clockwork Orange.
Daniel Day Lewis sucks.
"If we think we’re going to go out in a seek and destroy mission, this team will just laugh at you. They’ve had people running at them for five years; they know how to deal with it. Going out and thinking we’re going to intimidate the Chicago Blackhawks is nuts. They’ve seen all of that before and they just play right through it.”
- Ken Hitchcock
Since everyone has mentioned the main ones, I'll add Leo in Basketball Diaries
i'm just gonna do bio-pic performances:
1. denzel - malcolm x
2. PSH - capote
3. val kilmer - the doors
when i watch those films, i forget i'm watching fiction. those three roles literally made me think i was watching the real people.
Matt Damon in Team America
Some of you posted some other good ones. I saw someone say Jack Nicholson in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest." Another great performance. Also forgot Marlon Brando in "A Streetcar Named Desire." I also loved Tim Robbins in "The Shawshank Redemption." Some great performances.
I remember watching Ragin Bull for the 1st time not too long ago and thinking that was one of the best performances I'd ever seen.
Guy Pearce in Momento
Jared Leto in Requeim for a Dream (hell everyone in that movie... including Marlon Wayans was amazing)
Chritain Bale in the Machinist was pretty damn impressive too.
