    thats how every pawn shop is, otherwise they wouldnt be in business. and people go to places like that because they need to sell it for quick cash because their being evicted, need to cover the bills, or something like that.

    They aren't ripping people off. Most of the time for really valuable items they get clarification of the value and the pawn shop has to buy it, display it and insure it and then try to sell it for a profit. They can't give them full price and the pawn shop wants to turn it quickly if they can. The customers don't have to sell it if they want to try to sell it somewhere else for more.

    BTW. I love the show, I like American Pickers but the fat guy just doesn't have a personality and only wants to buy old oil cans.

    doesn't he collect oil cans i believe. if so, i guess that's why he always wants to buy them.

    Yeah it's a real pawn shop in Las Vegas.
    I'm guessing that when they are filming they probably only let a few people in at a time to try and sell their ****. And they are probably screened so they don't have to show the crackheads trying to sell **** they stole and people who lost all their money at the casino selling their wifes jewelry.
