Hello! I didn't even notice there was a fitness section.
I've just started going to the gym but I hit it hard.
welcome new people! post here often and you'll quickly see why this is one of the best forums on the site!

Started lifting in March of 2012 after losing about 100lbs (and gaining back 30 of it: Went from a fat 310 to a skinnyfat 210, then up to 240 when I starte lifting, down to 215 after lifting for a while, and now I'm back up to 235-240...but thats from muscle gain not fat) over the two years prior.
My training basically revolves around strength exclusively. I'm looking to start powerlifting in the very near future (once my nagging annoying injuries heal so I can get training hard again). Goals for my first meet are 500sq, 315b, 600d in the 242 class. Eventually I want to total 2000+lb's Raw. One day...

started working out when i was 18 ... started working out to get big and juiced and all that dumb nonsense that i now see is not the way to go lol i am all about body weight exercises and using multiple muscles in every rep/set... i do rope circuits, and other exercises that use multiple muscles at one time and also do jumping jacks, burpees, and other calisthenics that use more of your body ... i posted my workouts in the pantelones thread lol but my goal is 205-207 and im at 20% body fat and would like to be about 15...
i am so pumped i found this thread and will be a constant contributor !
Bird Fan- I have posted for awhile but wanted give little background.
35+ 5'11/6ft 168-172lbs (ripped as anyone can get) Married, three kids, management level employement for many years, have done very well thanks to God.
Former amateur boxer, wrestler, soccor, swimmer, current coach (not as job)
Workouts- 7 days a week (yes I know)- run 12-14miles daily (currently 84 weekly pace/ 8+ years). Weight train 6 days a week (35-45mins) supper set everything-
Example chest day- bench 225lb x6 reps (x3 sets)/ 205 12x(x3 sets)- flat bench bumb bell press (x6 sets at 75lbs). Open deep fly cables 65lbs (x6 sets) close grip pull-ups (x4 sets). Finish with 150+ seated leg lifts (abs/ daily).
Deit- I eat no red meat, I eat some white fish (baked only), whole grain, oatmeal, fruits, nuts. I eat NO fast food, junk, pizza, fried, heavy sugars. I take no supplements now. When I was young I took enough.
I hope to give some good advise when needed. You guys seem like nice fellows

Fitness History: I'm in Air Force ROTC, so I'm in deceeent. shape. On my last physical fitness assessment last friday I got:
70 Push-ups in 1 min. (Max is 67 for my age group)
60 Sit- ups in 1 min. (Max is 58)
and I ran a 9:39 Mile and a half (Max is 9:12)
So I got like a 99 out of 100. But those are just Air Force PT standards. I wanna go beyond that.
My main goals are
- Cutting my run time down to a sub 9 minute
- Getting super nice toned abs (mine are decent)
- Getting tone in my muscles and eventually start adding a bit of mass because I'm so scrawny.
- I want to work on everything, legs, back, shoulder, arms, and chest.
My problem is I haven't worked out in a gym since high school. I want to start again immediately but I dunno where to start. Ima make a thread asking for some suggestions for a workout I can stick with.
