Ill do the same I guess.
Avatar- I enjoyed the movie a lot, but It should not win.
The Blind Side- Have not seen it.
District 9- Loved it, wish it would win, but it wont.
An Education- have not seen it
The Hurt Locker- I though it was good, but not best movie material.
Inglorious Basterds- Hope and pray it wins, love it as well.
Precious- Have not seen it.
A Serious Man- Can't wait to see.
Up- It was ok for me, started great and it took a down term once they went up imo.
Up in the Air- Have not seen it.
Speaking of the Razzies, Will Ferrell's nomination is great in "Worst Screen Couple"
Will Ferrell and any co-star, creature or "comic riff" - Land of the Lost
Here a few thoughts...
I hope Bridges wins for BActor, he truly deserves it. Great performance.
I do not think Avatar will win for best picture, I think Up in the Air will.I saw Up in the Air, The Hurt Locker, Basterds, Up, Avatar and District 9...out of those, I hope Up in the Air or Basterds wins, both of those were incredible.

I would bet money that that is exactly what happens. Outside of the Golden Globes, Bigelow has won every major directing award including the Directors Guild Awards which have a better track record of predicting Oscar wins.
Avatar is thankfully getting some backlash lately and I think the Academy will want to finally give Best Director to a woman.
Obviously it could go either way, but I just wouldn't be so sure that she's not the front runner.

Get ready to be disappointed then b/c I'm sure it's going to happen and James Cameron will declare himself King of the World again...even though he's a very average director and his movie is nothing more than a popcorn flick. It shouldn't be anywhere near the Oscars.
I'd love to see Inglourious Basterds and The Hurt Locker win some awards, but other than Best Supporting Actor for Waltz I don't see either picture winning much. And at least Jeff Bridges will probably win an Oscar, that guy is awesome.

Yeah, but to me it eliminated the exclusivity that should exist for a BP nomination. Throwing in nominations for Up or District 9 (as much as I enjoyed both of those films) is just to appease people who *****ed about The Dark Knight and Wall-E not getting in lat year. It's not giving them any REAL recognition because it brings the Oscar down to an "Everybody Gets a Trophy" day.

Why not:
Best Picture thoughts:
-Avatar: Terrible
-The Blide Side: Haven't seen it but annoyed at its nomination
-District 9: Very good movie, that sags a bit in the final act
-An Education: Haven't seen it.
-The Hurt Locker: Spectacular
-Inglourious Basterds: I'm in the minority here, but I kind of thought this was overrated. Had some great individual moments but didn't seem to string together too well as an overall movie. Still, a very enjoyable experience though
-Precious: I've heard its way too melodramatic but great performances
-A Serious Man: Haven't seen it
-Up: Not a big fan of kids movie, but I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Pretty worthy choice
-Up In The Air: Spectacular.
Snub: The Informant

Comedies don't get nominated for Best Picture all that often.

How the blindside is getting those nominations just proves that the oscars are bought.
