Who will have the better year? I really think this is the year that VD completely breaks out and turns into a top 5 tight end production wise.
just want a few opinions on this..
Vernon Davis
Chris Cooley

Chris Cooley and i dont think it is close.
Member of the Owlluminati!
This a joke...?
why would it be a joke. VD is poised to have a breakout year this year with Jimmy Raye as the offensive coordinator. He's going to be their number 1 option when they pass the ball and will actually be used more of a receiver this year instead of being primarily a blocker.

He's been "poised to have a breakout year" since he was drafted. It hasn't happened. His hands and routes need work, and since the 9ers' OL has been so bad lately he's been needed to stay back and block on the edge. Expect that trend to continue this year. There's no way he'll out up any kind of impressive stats.
Cooley by miles.

Cooley by a mile.
Cooley all day, and yes my opinion is bias but he clearly is the better TE in this comparison!
Davis needs to get out of SF
Cooley by a couple miles.
Potential can go a long way in the NFL word and is the key word " Potential"
. Rivers had more Potential to be better then Peyton Manning but we all know how that turned out.
BTW Vernon Davis isn't that good , Cooley has shown that he's an elite TE and a two time pro-bowler.
Reed Doughty .......where second chances will ALWAYS HAPPEN. Stay tuned.
Cooley, by a margin about as big as the gap between SF and DC
This isn't even a comparison, Vernon Davis has done absolutely nothing in this league, and year in and year out Cooley is one of the more consistent receiving TE's in the league. Cooley by a mile.
