Game 44: Two Habs Make Season Debut In Bell Centre

The Canadiens kick off 2010 with a meeting against their division rivals, the Buffalo Sabres, in a Sunday matinée at the Bell Centre.

Montreal is coming off a 6-1 road trip, with Jaroslav Halak winning five of those six games. His play in December earned him the Molson Cup for the month.

It will also be Andrei Markov's first game in front of his home fans this season. He has 11 points in seven games since returning from a serious leg injury that caused him to miss 35 games.

Today will also be Benoit Pouliot's first game at the Bell Centre after being acquired from the Minnesota Wild for Guillaume Latendresse.

    Game time is 3 p.m.

On a sidenote, the Habs went 41-41-7 in the calender year of 2009, excluding the 0-4 Playoffs.

Also, Jaroslav Halak is starting for Montreal and Ryan Miller for Buffalo.

We were .500? Wow, it felt like we were 10-15 games below that line.

Twice can't forget the 2nd game of the year lol

But wow, that's the first time I've seen the Starting Goalie site I use be wrong about who's starting. They had Halak confirmed as starting as of 2:00.

Pretty impressive start, chalk up Ryan Miller as the reason its scoreless. I pray Team USA rides Miller in every game so he'll be finished by March...

A fast start indeed. The Habs are flying around and are getting great chances. Buffalo looks sluggish, hopefully the Habs don't give them a chance to get in this game.

Miller. Nothing more, nothing less. Any other goalie we win 4-1.

Definetly could have used one of Kovalev's 4 goals today. Where the hell did that come from... But overall Miller stole the show again today, and I completely forgot the Habs beating Buffalo at the start lol. Overall, Pouliot made more of a presence today I felt then Laraque has all season. Dissapointing loss but onto the next game.

Kovy will disappear for the next three weeks, mark it. 7 of his 11 goals have come in two games, which means he has 4 goals in the other 40 games. Not exactly a consistent threat...

    Strong defence, we beat Washington.

When the Sabres scored it looked like all the momentum the Habs just was gone and they stopped skating for the rest of the 2nd period. Can't win them all, next up Caps.

We need another forward. BGL is a big waste of space (BWoS).
