witten is a lot further ahead, but he has also been in the league longer. this is celeks 3rd year (1st as starter) and if you compare his stats to witten's 3rd year stats that are actually very similar. witten is certianly a better blocker right now but celek is ok, and he does work hard so that part of his game could be developed.

Remember Witten has Done it ALONE and with some Crappy QBs as well Celek has McNabb and Jackson and speedy WRs taking some eyes off of him on the field.

No I said Witten HAS done it alone. Ill put that into context for you. Witten did it before Romo or Austin were even there and Witten IS STILL DOING HIS THING NOW. Please dont try putting words in my mouth.

As a WR, Austin is better. That said, I would take Jackson before Austin.

Romo is better than McNabb at this point. But, realize that Witten been the TE for the 'Boys through Hutchinson, Carter, Bledsoe, etc.

Celek is having a great season but the overall best TE is still Witten.

we will just have to wait and see what celek does the rest of his career. don't get me wrong, right now witten is certainly better. witten did have his best year in TOs good dallas year with romo throwing the ball. and in Kolb's 2 starts this year celek had 16 catches for 208 yards and a TD so his success isn't completely tied to mcnabb. i was also pretty suprised to see celek has more TDs this year than witten has had in any season in his career. in 5 years we can argue about who was better in their prime.

Jason witten is not exactly really old, and maxed out on potential. Alot of you dont seem to realize jason witten is only 27 years old..

Celek is having a good start to his young career, but Witten has already proven that he is one of the best tight ends in the league.
