I personally wouldn't trade him to begin with but if we did do you think he would be worth a 1st round draft pick? The way he is playing lately can only raise his price tag. Thoughts?

Wow, did you not come on the forum yesterday, there's nothing more to discuss, Halak is our goalie and we better keep him or I'll be pissed off if we ride Price 10 games and the whole playoffs again like every other year of misery.
It depends on the market. Huet commanded a second rounder. Lehtonen is out there, as is Manny Fernandez. The Hawks are rumored to be shopping Huet. Team in need have to start bidding before anything breaks. The Flyers were not interested in giving up Jeff Carter and Gainey wants a top 6 forward in exchange. The team is playing pretty well since Markov's return, so Montreal is in the red seats with two quality goalies.
Halak may be worth in compensatory picks after July 1.
He won't get a 1st Rounder unless a team like San Jose loses their starter for the season. Fact is, Halak has never played more then 47 games in a season at ANY level(career high was 47 games back in 04-05 when he was in the QMJHL and he's played 40+ games just one other time back in 06-07 when he split time in Hamilton and Montreal) and he has virtually no Play Off experience(1 career start) which equates to literally the exact same trade value as Huet had when he was in Montreal, maybe a slight bit more because he's 24 and Huet was 33 when traded.
Mind as well keep him the rest of the year and hope a team gets desperate and gives him an Offer Sheet on July 1st. Otherwise all we're getting is a 2nd Rounder.
