    We owe Ward...

Kostopoulos should be fired up. I think we'll oblige and LIGHT him afire.

Halak gets his third straight start...

Is Martin trying to get fired? Yes, Halak is hot, but Carbo went with the better goalies last season (Halak) and was canned for doing so...

Their was more to Carbo's firing then just starting Halak. According to his players, specifically Saku Koivu, Carbo couldn't communicate with his team and apparently wasn't even viewed as the coach of the team.

There was a ton of stuff that went on, but it seems the goaltending issue was the icing on the cake. CP is the future and Carbo wasn't playing on that theme...

It had to have been Carbo's playing Halak over Price. As soon as Carbo was canned, Gainey played Price every game but one I think. Kostopoulous should be the least of our worries, Samsonov seems to like getting back at us. Regardless we need these 2 pts. no matter what the outcome is. I'd love for them to win 6 of their 7 road games, if not all. We just need to quit getting outshot 40-20 every game, less penalties, and we'll be on our way to winning some quality hockey games.

What a 1st period. 4 goals, 2/2 on the PP and absolute dominance. Seemed like every other offensive drive was a 2 on 1 or near breakaway.

The Canes are horrible and they're quitters. Nice combination. Maurice has a real long future behind that bench!

The SOG totals tonight are deceptive. With the defence packing down, the shots taken by Carolina were nothing more than warm ups for Halak.

And Tommy the Greek... wow! Still looks like he left his game in the 1st round of the 2008 playoffs.

^^Merry Christmas to you too HabsFan87.

Great game, nice to see the team put a 5 spot up on the board. The Habs definitely backed completely off after the 1st. Like you said McMikel, the shots were completely deceptive, Canes had a few good chances but not much.
