Mets sign Dicky to Minor League Deal

It is being reported that the Mets are close to signing R.A. Dickey to a minor league contract.

Dickey a knucleball reliever was 1-1 with The Twins Last year.

All of you thought that Omar was asleep at the wheel....Forget about it !!!

Omar is on top of it and will not leave any stone unturned.

    Good Job Omar !!

While there's nothing wrong with these "depth" moves a FO still needs to make the moves to fill holes in the big league team. The problem is the Mets aren't doing it, so it's just making things looks worse when they're doing **** like this.
    Props to MetsLegacy

    I'm biased...

I was a pitcher, and toyed with the knuckler, so I'm intrigued by this move. To my recollection Dickey is the only knuckleballer Ive ever heard of on the Mets.

All in all its nothing to get excited about, however

This is the Mets answer to J.A. Happ. Let's hope R.A. is the better of the two people who are called by their initials.

    R.A. > J.A

    Let's go Mets !

I guess we should be thankful that we need a left fielder that Omar doesn't go out and sign Cecil Fielder or worse yet Lasting Millege!

…i realize there is nothing wrong with these moves, especially a guy like this, who can start or pitch in the bullpen, and on short notice, but, man, given how the team has yet to make the bigger moves, these sorts of acquisitions only seem to highlight what isn’t happening…

A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press the Mets are nearing agreement on a minor league contract with knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the deal was not yet complete.

The 35-year-old right-hander made 14 starts for Seattle in 2008 but was primarily a reliever for Minnesota last season, when he went 1-1 with a 4.62 ERA in one start and 34 relief appearances.
