...but it probably belongs here.
Yahoo! SportsAn NBA executive says the struggling Washington Wizards are “open for business” for trades. The source said the Wizards are obviously very open to moving guard Gilbert Arenas(notes), but don’t think they will have any takers because of his hefty contract. “Someone will take the fall,” the source said. The source added that Washington management “loves” young center JaVale McGee(notes) and would only deal him in a trade that includes Arenas.

WAS Gets:
Tracy McGrady
Chuck Hayes
HOU Gets:
Gilbert Arenas
Javale McGee
Mike James
The money is nearly even. We get defensive specialist F/C Hayes and TMac's $23mil expiring. I'd be willing to include our 2nd rounder if need be. Then I'd sign Ronnie Brewer to an offer sheet and make him our starting SG. Lock up Haywood, McGuire and Foye. David Lee may also be a UFA. I'd definitely go after him. If we don't win the draft lottery (and John Wall), I'd try to acquire the draft rights to Ricky Rubio from MIN.
PG Foye (I'd prefer Foye as the backup PG/SG)
SG Brewer
SF Butler/McGuire
PF Jamison/Blatche
C Haywood/Hayes
Much improved financial situation. Much improved defense with additions of Hayes and Brewer.

All I gotta say is, if in a year Gilbert goes back to being on fire, scoring 28ppg and hitting game winners, we will look stupid.
just an idea but what do you guys think about trying to get David West????

Bucks probably not the greatest trading partner. But what would ya want for Butler?
Wiz get: Battier, Milsap and Korver
Jazz get: McGrady, Cook, James and Young
Rockets get: Butler, Kirilenko and Stevenson
and some trade exceptions are in there.
Battier gives us defense, Milsap a post presence and Korver is another Mike Miller who can come off the bench and be consistent

Trade works not sure if the link does
give away: caron butler and javaris crittenton to the Bucks
receive: joe alexander, luke ridnour, jodie meeks
1.i know this a bad trade for us and i really love butler but we need to make a change
2. this gives us major cap relief with the contracts of ridnour (6.5mil) and alexander (2.6mil) are coming off the books
3. meeks is a rookie and has time to grow and become a good role player
4. again, the cap relief. with this money we can be players in the 2010 free agency
in free agency next year we will re-sign brendan haywood (7.5mil), re-sign mike miller(5.5mil), sign rudy gay (11mil), sign raymond felton (6.5mil), sign roger mason jr.(3mil),
in draft we will get greg monroe in the first round and Da'sean Butler in the second
LINEUP BENCH
PG Glibert Arenas Raymond Felton
SG Nick Young Roger Mason Jr.
SF Rudy Gay Mike Miller/Da'sean Butler
PF Antawn Jamison Greg Monroe/Andray Blatche
C Brendan Haywood Javale McGee
The Cap is supposed to be $40 million something. And with Gilbert and Jamison around $20 million, and those contracts you just said, that would be around $50 million on 7 contracts. Plus the roughly $9 million worth of contracts from the other players.
I would trade buter away for cash and a 1st and 2nd round pick
Jamison for a young player and pick(randolph and pick maybe)
with everything that is about to happen to gilbert you probably can't even give him away since everyone wants money for next season but maybe you can get something done..
Then next season go after Joe johnson and rudy Gay and pray you get john wall in the draft, resign brandon Haywood(still have nick young) you would have the young player and pick for jamison maybe a late round pick for butler and that second rounder and your team would be very solid in a year or two....you all might not feel this way but if i were you guys I would want a rebuilding season and get rid of this whole team..
well now ur talking about butler and jamison for t-mac...that is one way to save money for next season but man get some picks or something instead
where does that money go if Arenas contract gets void? how does that work out?

the contract ends and they do not owe him any more money, it comes off the books and you have more cap room. So the money stays with the team and you can then have more money to sign someone... that would be good I think for your team but it looks like your droping him plus butler and jamison so you need to hope for John wall and sign 2 nice FA 2-3 nice role players and resign haywood and you have a nice team in the east.
