This thread will be used for teams writing to me to PROVE that you deserve more money. I will grant it based on:
- How well and creative it is written
- If you are in the process of the team's best interest. AKA make sure you don't ask for more money if you have some horrible contracts on your team.
This will be opened on Tuesday.

We pick up his option. We'd like to offer him an extension as well tho.
Carl you are the longest tenured Tampa Bay Ray. You were here for the hard times (trust me I know how hard it was) but you are here for the good now and we want to thank you for your loyalty and want you to be apart of this club for the next 4 years. You fit perfect in our #1 or #2 hole and with the players growing around you and the changes we want to make to make this team even more competitive I feel is enough to make you want to stay here:
2010:$ 8 million
2011:$ 10 million
2012:$ 11.5 million
2013:$ 13 million
2014:$ 12 million(team and player option. $2.5 million buyout)
In total the extension is a 4 year/$42.5 million contract with the 12 million option for a 5th year.
Thanks and look forward to hearing back from you,
TS

Carl, says he has loyalty. But, he looks forward to being on the open market during the prime of his career after 2010. So, the 10M option pick-up is fine, but he will not sign an extension during this off-season.
