Mark, we in the Cubs organization felt like it was in our best interest to trade you last offseason. It turns out, we we're dead wrong. We'd love to bring you back DeRo, to where you should be. The Windy City!

Vlad, the Cubs are very interested in your services, but the question is, can you handle and every day right field?

Well after having a very long sit-down with the McCourts (Jamie did her best to cut the cap to create a fund for new racquetball courts in downtown LA; but stronger minds prevailed) in which I laid out our master plan for the organization, we feel it is time to request an increase in budget from 122M to 150M. While we realize that this is indeed a drastic upgrade, we don't think it's an unreasonable demand at all in these drastic times. It's times like these where America's Pastime takes on a vital importance in the hearts of people everywhere. All we want is to be able to put out an excellent product that the people of LA can believe in, and truly take pride in. Los Angeles is a fantastic city, the second biggest market in the country, and 122M, lower than the Mets, Cubs, Phillies, Red Sox and WAY lower than the Yankees isn't going to cut it right now. You understand that those are the elite teams, and to be numbered among them we need a little bit more flexibility. Me and my Co-Gm can build an elite franchise for now and the future if you give us the chance, which we showed last year in building an extraordinarily young team that got went to the NLCS. I ask the ATM to consider especially the fact that the Yankees who dominated the league on their way to a World Series title have 70M on us in salary cap and 20M in budget. We are one of the few franchises that can actually compete with the Yankees' almost unfair monetary advantage on the rest of baseball. We sell out the vast majority of home games, we sell three million seats every season without fail, and we have a cap that handcuffs us in FA while the other big market teams are making moves left and right while we're back on our heels. We also have to contend with the fact that the Phillies took the Royals behind the shed in acquiring a cheap superstar, and the fact that our main competition in the division, the Giants, have received a cap raise and already have offers in on multiple elite Free Agents. If you give us this extra space, we will win the world series. Please consider our case.

    Marlins need $$

    Atm,
Florida Marlins here. We would like to point out that we won 84 games last year and we will not be able to win much more with our current cap. In the last 4 years our cap has been: 2009: $ 36,834,000, 2008: $ 21,811,500,2007: $ 30,507,000, 2006: $ 14,998,500. We would like to point out that of recently we have been winning a good amount of games considering the Braves have a cap of $96 million cap this year, the Philles have $113 Million cap this year, the Mets have $150 million cap and the Nations have $60 million cap. All the teams in our division except the Nationals have at least double our cap and the Mets have just under 4 times as much as we do. WE think in this divsion we would need around $60 million cap for now to get through free agency to be able to win. Our fans need a wining team to support so that then we may be able to have a new stadium. We would like you to raise our cap to $60 million. We believe that if you do that then we would be able to contend.

    Thanks,
    The Marlins

    Dear ATM

After talking with Mr. Henry last night we request that our payroll go from 130 mil to 142 mil. There isn’t anything worse than seeing your arch rivals celebrating the WS title and we feel like we need to make a real push in cap to overtake the Yankees. As GM, I have already made big trades acquiring young slugger Pablo Sandoval and Luke Scott. We might arguably have the best fan base in baseball, and they have spoken out that we need to make some moves. Fenway Park has proved that it can provide consistent sellouts and put butts in the seats. The Yankees proved last year that buying FA can get you very far, and we have decided to turn away from the “low risk high reward” moves. Jason Bay who led our team in Home Runs is currently a FA. We have been trying to lose cap by moving the 7.5 million Martinez for a 400K Sandoval, but we are going to need more cash to be able to sign bay and other quality FA’s. We hope you can raise our cap

My client understands baseball is a business and would love to come back to Chicago. But, isn't ready to make a rash decision.

My client doesn't think so, if an NL team wants him, expect only a Vlad at 80 percent.

    Dear ATM,

The Toronto Blue Jays request our cap be raised from 80M to 100M. Now I know this seems like a lot, but we have a 3m budget right now and that won't do us any good in the free agent signing. It's bad enough we have to be in the AL East and with 3m worth of free agents, we just have no chance to contend (not saying that we can contend). It doesn't help either that we have a 10m contract from B.J Ryan that is almost impossible to trade. We sincerely hope you will raise our budget. Thanks.

    From,

    The Toronto Blue Jays

Well Eric, in Milwaukee, CC came here and pitched on 3 days rest just about every week, and he was healthy enough to get a 161 M deal.

Chone the Orioles are a good team, if we add you, a player like Casey Kotchman will be batting 8th that just shows how good the lineup would be

Mr.Chapman the Orioles are very interested in your services, and we assure you that you would be in the opening day rotation.

Orioles Offer a 5 year deal worth 30 million dollars
    2010: 4 Million Dollars
    2011: 5 Million Dollars
    2012: 7 Million Dollars
    2013: 7 Million Dollars
    2014: 7 Million Dollars

It is a little backended but, this means your are going to get paid no matter what, and your only 20 minutes away from the Capital of the United States, that would be a great convenience to you.

    Dear ATM,

After spending countless hours and cash (mostly on the review of the auto industries latest attempt to revive production of the Edsel), the proud and formerly prosperous Cleveland Indians request an ever so slight "bump" in the revenues needed to adequately staff the paper shredding brigade we were mandated to hire by this mamby pamby bleeding heart left wing psuedo socialist judge who drives a Beemer. The current state of affairs:

    Cleveland Indians
    Committed: 52,204,167
    Salary Cap: 65,000,000
    Budget: 12,795,833

The "bump" requested is for the meager sum of $ 12.5 MM. I know you will find room in your expansive and empathetic heart to see that this request is processed without further delay.
