Depending on your condition I would recommend running 2-4 miles a day for the next few weeks. If you stay true to that you are certain to lose at least 5 pounds. It won't make much of a difference if you only do it every couple of days though.
I went to the gym twice yesterday. 40 minutes on the elliptical & ran 3 miles the first trip there. Then went back in the evening & did another 30 minutes on the elliptical.
