The Blues just announced that they’ve exercised the option on head coach Andy Murray’s contract through the 2010-11 season.

Murray’s original contract ran through the 2009-10 season, with a team option for the 2010-11 season. Today, the Blues picked up that option.

After leading the Blues to the NHL playoffs last season, Murray was nominated for the league’s Jack Adams (coach of the year) Trophy, but he lost to Boston’s Claude Julien. Murray is 101-85-32 as coach of the Blues.
