    Rumor: Horton for D. Stafford

So, word on the net is that the Sbares are trying to get Horton for Stafford... A trade like this, straight up, will definitely not benefit as, as I think Horton's got immense potential, more so than Stafford. In any event, who else do you guys think they could add to the trade to sweeten up the trade a bit?

Stafford has a good amount of potential. Horton has takena hit in the last year and a half but still is a very upsidish player. I think he'll come around this year hopefully.

I really think, and certainly hope Horton will come around and play to his potential. He's probably going to get moved back to the wing, where he should do better, since he'll have more of an opportunity to take shots, as opposed to being a playmaker. Have you heard anything about this trade rumor though?

Fins, i totally agree that he's better, but if they were to include some other players, that may be an upgrade, THEN I'd consider it. Otherwise no way is that acceptable.

Absolutely. Not too familiar with their roster, but I've always kind of been a fan of Afinigenov. He's a real speedster. But I would really want him to play with Horton, so we could see Horton skating hard, and not coasting how he does half the time. Either way, don't think this is getting passed speculation.

Afinogenov is an unrestricted free agent, good try though. Maybe someone like Daniel Paille instead, along with Stafford. otherwise it's not a good deal for Florida. Horton will have a bounce back year and lead the Panthers in scoring. i say don't trade him, he has enormous potential sand huge upside.

Probably just came from Eukland haha. Trust me fella's, I love Horton's potential, just question his heart at times. I think he'll definitely be putting up some numbers as a winger. This will give him more opportunities to take shots, as opposed to being more of a playmaker. What a boring offseason from the Panthers though! Although, I am excited to see some of the younger guys, and this Dadanov (SP?) guy's recent signing has at least given me something to read. ANyone know much about this guy?

What a terrible deal this would prove to be. I feel diry just having read about it.

Horton needs to be a building block, not trade bait. He is a young player that has leadership on an even younger team. Look to him, in the absence of JBO, to mentor guys like Frolik.
