A note from a SAL scout:
Beckham has a HUGE lower half. He's not that guy who is projected to hit 15 HR and swipe 30 bags anymore. I wonder what the Rays think.
Obviously just one view but I didn't like the Beckham pick at the time and I still don't like it now.
Loose seal. Watch out for loose seal.

depends, are we going by position??

because flores doesn't have great foot speed and when all said is done he'll grow another inch or two and will most likely be moved to the corner outfield spot.

    I'd take Flores.

They have almost identical OBP but Flores has a tremendous strike out rate.

i have no idea. Flores is 1.5 years younger and posted the same numbers in the same league...I think Beckham is over-hyped.

I do put a lot of trust in their player selection and development though.

Flores. This kid is projected to put up BIG power numbers when he is fully developed. I have heard people compare him to Miguel Cabrera. Even if he is half the player of Cabrera, he'll still be really good.

I really think the MLB pressured the Rays into picking him since to have a black player go No 1 when they did all the negro draft and all. Theres no way a sane team would pick him over Alvarez.
