and as far as Kobe being the better team leader and team player. Did his team not win it all this year? His TEAM not him his team? Was he not the leader of that team?

What about Lebron? What happened to his Team this year? Team leader and Team player to me means "As the Superstar of your team you lead them and elevate the players around you to another level." Bron doesn't get this concept yet. Kobe has finally grasped it. So, as the team aspect goes Kobe is the better Team leader and Team Player. You guys put Bynum and Ariza as go to players on the Lakers squad right? Lets see what happens to Ariza in Houston, Lets see how great of a player he is without Kobe. Maybe Ariza was an avg. NBA player that happened to elevate his game because he was playing with the Greatest player in the NBA today.

Same could be said about Verajo or any of the Cavs players had Cleveland Won the Ship, the Avg players are always look upon as being better. Scottie pippen was an above avg player(star, allstar) and yet Jordan elevated him to the position of demigod(kinda of stretching it but you get the point).

Until the King wins a Ship you will never ever be able to say he Elevates the players around him to be better. You look at his squad and say they suck and kobe has better players around him. Is that because Kobe makes them look better than they are? In reality Kobe had 1 other Allstar on his team Pau, Odom has starlike qualities but not allstar like. The rest are avg players Ariza, Bynum, Fisher, farmer, vuajic etc are all roll players nothing more.

So do you think Derek Fisher was the best player on the Lakers all those years he got his rings? I know Kobe was and still is. THINK before saying anything..

You guys will never give me a real reason other then ships on why kobe is better, so i'm done...
Since you pointed out that Kobe can only score (we all know thats stupid) because he's the best scorer in the game, then one can say that lebron can ONLY jump, which is actually pretty accurate..

Btw, what the hell are you talking about, lebron averaged about 2 more mpg than Kobe, lol.

    1) Kobe is a better shooter.

    2) Kobe has better footwork.

    3) Kobe makes the toughest shots.

    4) Kobe (along with D-wade) create and make the most creative shots.

    5) Kobe has better range.

    6) Kobe has better shooting "mechanics". (aka free throw percentage always in the 80s for his career. only exception was his 2nd yr in the league when he was primarily a 6th man, did not get many free throw attempts, and shot 78-79%).

    7) Kobe has better post-up game (even though he doesn't post up as much as MJ used to).

    8) Kobe has the better handles and ball control. (He, along with AI, Starbury, B. Davis, T-Mac etc were known to be the masters of the jukes and cross-overs in the late 90s and early 2000s.)

    9) Kobe's basketball mind is much greater. He completely understands the intracacies of the offense his team runs, which is the triangle offense. He knows it inside out, and knows the most of the offense. Can't say that about the stars of the other team unless they are a point guard that has the ball in their hands 95% of the time (aka steve nash, chris paul)

    10) Kobe has the best body control. He can take contact (aka, when Melo leveled him in game 5 of the WCF, and unlike other players, did not fall flat on his face or did an acting job--> i guess the lack of acting job can be attributed to the maturity and growth of his game, since he's stopped doing a lot of the acting stuff to draw contact for the last 2 yrs he's been in the league). He can also contort his body in any offensive situation to get the best feel and opportunity to make a shot.

    11) The best offensive arsenal currently in the NBA.

    12) The best "1-possession" defensive player (Timmy D, KG, and Wade the others).

    13) Still the best 1-on-1 player because of his overall offensive game.

    14) Kobe can coach the team by vocally speaking or drawing plays on the whiteboard by himself. Player coach (like Russell)

    15) Kobe takes a challenge personal, and now due to his maturity, understands when to pick and choose his battles. HE is the Alpha Male of the NBA that everyone tries to attack offensively and defensively. HE is the guy that pretty good defensive players EARN the title of "defensive specialists" like Bruce Bowen, Raja Bell, Dahntay Jones (to an extent), Shane Battier, and of course, Ron Artest (although he is naturally a defensive force). In fact, Pierce's defense stood out when he felt to take on the challenge against Kobe in the 2008 NBA Finals. For that, he got a lot of notoriety.

    16) Literally outscored a team all by himself EVERY SECOND he played in a game. (December 2005, Kobe 62, Mavericks 61, thru the first 3 quarters, did not play a second in the 4th qtr)

    17) He is THE ABSOLUTE BEST 2nd option guy in the history of the NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION, when he was the 2-punch to Shaq's 1

    18) He is a top 10 1st option guy in the history of the NBA. This is what makes him so great, the fact that he won championships as the 2nd best guy, and now winning championship as THE GUY. And took on the role early on his career for the betterment of the team, the organization, and his own legacy to start off his young career winning championships. Went to the top of the mountain, fell flat on his face, and went back up to the mountain (he and d-fish are the only guyz i can recall who have gone thru such)

    19) Kobe always has his defenders guessing what his next move will be. He has the defender on his heals every second he is on the floor.

    20) Kobe can attempt less than 10 free throws in a game and still drop 50.

    21) Kobe has the most stamina and energy to actually put up the amount of shots he did when he scored 81 (46 FGA)

    22) IF NEED BE, KOBe can score 50 or 60 at will. We experienced that in 05-06 and 06-07.

    23) Once Kobe is on fire, he is the most dangerous player. (aka, 4 straight 50+ games in 06-07, jordan's last game as a wizard in LA (kobe 9/13 3 pointers-55 pts), Tied for most 3 pointers made in a game (12 in 2006 vs Seattle, tied with Donyell Marshall, but did it first and in 1 less attempt)

    24) Kinda feel I have to bring this up, but.....the most mentally tough player I have seen to date with everything going wrong against him. In 03-04, would come back from Colorado court, perhaps come back to the arena right before or in the middle of the game, and have either a huge night or would hit ridiculous game winners.

As far as I'm concerned putting a poll on here when Lakers fans out number Cavs fans like 10-1 on PSD is pointless. But with that being said Kobe is the better player simply because he's the most polished of the two. Kobe is already in his prime and LeBron isn't there yet which is kinda scary. The one aspect of LeBrons game that I can not stand is when he settles for 3s when the games are on the line. His jumper is far too inconsistent for him to even be attempting as many 3s per season. If he would just develop his mid range and sparingly take 3s then he'd be the most unstoppable player today.

Just look at what Jordan did the man shot 50% from the field and and was a monster from mid range in while only attempting 1 3pg . LeBrons at 47% and shoots about 5 3pg. And Kobes at 45% while attemping 5 3pg as well. But the one thing LeBron lacks that Jordan and Kobe both have is the ability to consistently hit daggers from inside the 3pt line with the game on the line. Lebron and Kobe both are pretty solid at defense so I don't have to argue that. But once LeBron develops his J he can arguably become the best.

Kobe is in the defensive first team, how is he a one dimensional player? (he can only score?)

Lebron is so much better, Kobe just has a really sick team.

Plus Kobe is a horrible teammate.

They are both terrific players, both terrific leaders, and both terrific teammates. If you can't contribute anything worthwhile, go back to your forum and discuss how you can keep your hall of fame point guard in raymond felton. I'm trying to have a good conversation with Cavs fans. So far, you (Cavs fans) have been very welcoming. Thanks.
