I'd take Roy over Pierce at this point. Pierce has lost a lot of athleticism and explosiveness. He never relied on a lot of that even in his prime but the decline is pretty evident to me. I haven't see Pierce try to be aggresive and explode to the rim and slam it home. Instead, I've seen a Pierce relying a lot on step back Js and pull ups. He hasn't dominated a game in a while, last one I remember is the game 7 duel against james. And his defense has been above average at best.

Roy has really improved as a leader and become more of a combo guard. I haven't seen a lot so my judgment might be off. Roy has great playmaking ability and can do whatever the team needs him to do. So, in that sense he's more versatile than Pierce. He's the go to guy in the clutch and made several big shots last season. Also more efficient and a better penetrator.
