We got this guy for a $1, maybe I am being harsh Last two years though he was playing great hockey but this year he has really fell off the map.
Pavel Datsyuk could stickhandle in a phone booth! Johan Franzen could knock over the phone booth!

We aren't paying malts to score goals. He is here as a pk specialist. That's why we have a 4th line.

We should stop worrying about the production of drapes and malts, when our star player in zetts hasn't really been the same since that hit by ohlund. It looks like z is afraid to drive the net now... I hope he isn't intimidated.

Datsyuk and Holmstrom are coming around so it's just a matter of time.

    Ritola resigns for 3 years.

    Larsson goes back to Sweden.

Looks like Ritola has a good chance at being on the roster next year.

Todd Bertuzzi, Red Wings begin contract talks

    http://www.freep.com/article/2010051...ontract-talks-

No disrespect to Bertuzzi but I was hoping we'd pass bringing him back. I think he'll want around 2.5-3 million now since he came off a good post season. He seemed invisible in the regular seasons, but played well when we had that injury stretch.

Yeah, I'm on the fence about Bert. He was useful at times, but I don't think we are gonna get anything more than we got out of him this year.

Upside and downside to Bert...He is big, and I think learned from Homer this year playing a lot like his style. He could become even more like him next year which would be very nice to have. Downside is yeah he probably wont produce more, especially since he wont have to carry the brunt of the workload while half our team is injured hah.

Only reason Ritola will be on the roster is because he is out of options and can't be sent to the minors without clearing waivers. He is no more than a 4th line forward, so maybe he competes with Miller/Abdelkader/Draper for the last spot.

Exactly. Otherwise I don't see him on the team next year. I did like what I saw out of him this year however, and I think he has a chance to be a 3rd liner at some point.

    Axelsson playing in Sweden.

His time is running out to be an NHL player.

Bill Matheson who writes for Edmonton papers has said that the Wings are going to target Colby Armstrong of the Thrashers. He will provide some "sandpaper" for the Wings' third line. He wants a raise from his $2.4M salary to about $3M.

I don't know much about this guy, I know he doesn't score a ton. Anyone have anything on him?

He's a gritty, tough forward who still hasn't hit his prime. He's great in both ends, and with the right players, there's no doubt he could score 25 goals. I don't like the hole 3 million idea though.

Colby is a bit of a punk but I'm sure I would like him more in a Wings sweater. Not for 3 million though.

Anyways, the roster is crowded as it is, and we need to get the kids in Grand Rapids some looks sooner than later. I have to question our system of over-ripening players right now.

Should also be noted that Colby's brother Riley plays for us in Grand Rapids.
