Kobe will join an elite group if he gets finals mvp this year.

Kobe will join an elite group if he gets finals mvp this year.

He will be one of several players to win league MVP and Finals MVP in his career.

    Others to do it.

MJ, Magic, Kareem, Wilt, Hakeem, Duncan, Shaq, Bird, Moses Malone

So no matter what anyone says having won a Season MVP and Finals MVP will put him in the elite players of all time group. It is just about total resume after that.

NOTE: Russell should be there as well.

Seems like Kobe will finally get his ring as the 'Batman' of the team. The 3 'Robin' rings don't mean nearly as much as this one.

This ring will mean more to him than the 3 previous rings.

i dont really like kobe but i respect him!! i think he has matured alot since shaq left and when he changed his number i seen a new player! he is more about his teammates now. i respect the #24 kobe more than the #8 kobe.

i agree. and kobe is on his way of getting his 4th ring this year at the age of 30 while MJ got his 2nd or first ring at the age of 30. Things are looking great for him right now.

MJ had his 3rd ring in his 10th season at 30
Duncan had his 3rd ring in his 8th season at 29
Magic had his 3rd ring in his 6th season at 26 and 4th ring at 28.

Anyway since when was the topic about rings? The topic was about Season MVP and Finals MVP.

Kobe is already an all-time great in an elite group. I could care less what anyone says. He's only the 2nd shooting guard ever to win in a season. Who was the other? Jordan.
I could go on about accomplishments and feats and the fact that he has 3 rings already, but it gets tiresome. Kobe will not fully be appreciated until he is gone I'm afraid.

Obviously he is an alltime great, but having both a season and finals mvp puts him in an elite list. Rings are good, but any allstar can get rings in the right situation, however not any star can win Season MVP and Finals MVP in their career though.

    I agree.

This is Kobe's chance of being in that list.

No really, you guys are all rite on. He is already an all-time great, and with this 4th championship(and 1st finals mvp), he will join that elite group of shaq, mj, magic, duncan, kareem, bird, moses, hakeem wilt and IMO, will no doubt be top 10. perhaps top 7 or 8 since he has shown that he can play any role successfully (both batman and robin in his illustrious career) and still win championships. The best at adjusting to his atmosphere and winning the championship.
